Adopt A Spot

Adopt-A-Spot is a litter prevention and beautification program to Clean up Milan. “Spot” can be your neighborhood, your schoolyard, a vacant lot or any Spot that you are interested in keeping litter-free. Maintenance of your Spot requires a commitment from you. The benefits to you and others include the proud feeling of adopting a Spot, the beauty added to the area, the positive impact on our community, and recognition.

Anyone is invited to adopt including individuals, families, youth groups, faith communities, organizations, schools, and businesses. Some Spots may require more commitment than others, so choose one that fits your capabilities. If you have limited time, for example, you might choose to focus just on regular litter removal in your neighborhood. Other more intensive Spots may need planting or weeding so they don’t become overgrown. You may volunteer to perform routine maintenance such as litter removal, mowing, weeding, landscape plantings, or even painting. Your adoption should fit the amount of time and resources you have.

Choose to beautify a Spot that means something to you people usually select a place they see every day near their home, workplace, school, or local park. Clean up Milan Committee has also identified sites that are “up for adoption” and we would be happy to share the information with you.

We want your experience to be a positive one, and we will constantly work to obtain resources for your benefit.
